Greater Chennai Corporation commissioner, G. S. Sameeran visited a section of Mylapore this June16 morning. He went around P. S. Sivaswami Salai and Kalvi Varu Street, along with local area GCC engineers and staff.
The focus was on addressing the issue of flooding during the monsoon. This is one area that has been badly affected and also received many projects executed to prevent flooding.
A few local activists briefed the commissioner on other issues in Mylapore zone that affect the community – issues created by work on Chennai Metro, Nageswara Rao Park. redevelopment and encroachments.
