Dr. Shilpa, the director of Talent Development for Arts and Craft, an art school in Mylapore has been nurturing young artists for the past 22 years.
On Sunday, July 19 she will curate a unique event themed with art.
44 children aged 3–15 years will participate in an Indian Book of Records attempt by collectively illustrating the 44 verses of the Hanuman Chalisa. Each child will illustrate one verse on an unlined sheet using various art media, completing the artwork within two hours.
The completed illustrations will be compiled into a book, which will be released on Sunday, August 2 at Sri Ramanujar Millennium Hall, Bhaskarapuram, Mylapore, by renowned Bharatanatyam dancer-teacherJayanthi Subramaniam.
