Imagine celebrating your birthday in a formal manner when you are 90 years old.
Janaki-ammal is a resident of Ragamalika Apartments in Thiruvengadam Street, Mandaveli and she says she has never celebrated her birthday as such.
But the senior women of this community decided to make her 90th birthday a red-letter day. The community hall was decorated, music floated around, Janaki spoke at length of her wonderful life and a cake was cut for the occasion.
Then followed high tea.
Janaki-ammal became every emotional with this celebration, said organiser Kalyani Muralidharan.
