A TANGEDCO power supply junction box in North Mada Street went up in flames on Wednesday evening ( July 8). This box is located near NAC Jewellers store.
People informed TANGEDCO and Fire Services; the fire engine arrived and its staff put out the fire.
As a result of this, power supply to local stores was cut off and many shops closed well before normal closing time.
TANGEDCO staff said the damaged box will be set right by Thursday and power will be restored in the area.
