V. Vaikunth, former Chennai city police commissioner and former director general of police passed away on July 10 at his residence in Bishop Garden in R. A. Puram.
He was 89.
Vaikunth was in the Tamil Nadu Police for 35 years.
He retired from service in 1995.
He was associated with a few community projects in the city.
