Children in R. A. Puram learn villupaatu; to perform at I-Day event

In May, a group of women under the umbrella of Raja Annamalaipuram Residents Association (RAPRA) formed a club called RAPRA Kids Club (RKC)  for children in the age group of 6 to 14 years.

These mentors have been meeting the children every fortnight to  train the children in many skills and creative activities.

The children have now learnt the traditional folk art of  villupaatu. They are now enthusiastically rehearsing a patriotic song to be sung in villupaatu style at the Independence Day celebrations of RAPRA which are held in a grand manner locally.

This will be the first show by the Club’s members..
