Residents of some areas of Mylapore zone have raised issues on the quality of water supplied by Metrowater the past few weeks.
Some say it is smelling, some say it is green/ brown in colour, some say their sumps have been polluted and must be cleaned now and then.
The residents in R K Nagar in R A Puram had raised water pollution issues with Metrowater the past weeks and did not get a strong response. But when they escalated the complaints, Merowater seniors of the zone got into the act.
The past two days, staff are taking steps to indentify teh source /cause of pollution.
Their contract workers are digging spots along streets and roads in the R K Nagar area where water lines and drains intersect, to check if sewage is locally polluting water lines.
Residents say engineers are not able to locate the cause of pollution easily.
