Residents from three areas of Mylapore zone have called Mylapore Times to say that they have been getting dirty, green-coloured and smelling drinking water in their Metrowater pipelines. And that local Metrowater staff are not able to deal with this issue.
Now, a few residents of R. K. Nagar in R A Puram want to collect photos and data from people who are worried with the quality of the water and take this issue to senior Metrowater officials.
One resident of R. K. Nagar in R A Puram shared photos today ( Sept.15) of dirty, smelly water he has been getting off and on past 2 months. He says the water is clean and good for some days and then, polluted water flows into their sumps. He says this is the same experience of others in this nagar. Residents from R A Puram have also complained of this.
Residents of Jeth Nagar in Mandaveli showed photos of dirty green water in their sumps. ( photo above) One of them said that this could be because the chlorination has not been done properly.

Water supplied is smelly and coloured. Sump is also polluted.
We have been facing this issue for the past 45 days and hope the issue is receiving adequate attention. Understand that the Sewage Board has collected the inputs and identified the root cause. Suggest to display current status by zone-wise in the Water tax collection centers for public knowledge.
Wish pot holes are repaired immediately every where and signal at Karpagam Avenue Mainroad MRC nagar never functions even though signal lamp pole etc are fully installed It’s unfair GCC traffic police is inactive and great danger for us to turn right from Karpagam Avenue or to other directions since none give way to others . Power interruption is unending and EB boxes are appalling to look and exposed too ,hope it’s all attended as soon as possible since it does not involve lots of expenditures .People lives matter !
