Messy job of contractor upsets residents of a Mylapore street

Civil contractors working on small projects in Mylapore’s inner streets have a way of getting their projects done but leaving behind problems for neighbours.

Here is one case that Sridhar Rajagopalan has reported – since his aged mother is facing the brunt of a contractor’s irresponsible actions.

A contractor recently completed building flats in Senkazhaneer Pilliyar Koil Street, Mylapore.

His men are said to have dug up a portion of  the street all the way to Kutchery Road to provide for power supply connection. In the process, this section of the narrow street is in a mess and has got messy as the monsoon hit the area.

Said Sridhar, “My mother lives there by herself and the workers have dumped the mud by the wall of our house at 130, Kutchery Road. There is absolutely no accountability on their part.”

Sridhar says Chennai Corporation must act against the violators and fine the person and get him to set right the dug-up portion of the street.
