Civic agencies seem to be fully geared up to address severe issues created by the monsoon.
After the heavy rain late Saturday night, some areas in Alamelumangapuram and in V C Garden Street were inundated with water which stagnated.
Officials of the local unit of Metrowater swung into action the next morning and pumped the
water into their lorry tank and the areas were dry under an hour.
In the normal case in the past in such a situation, the water would be led out elsewhere in the same area but
in this case, the water was sucked into the lorry using pipes and motors and this will be let out where the outflow will not affect people.
