There are a set of young parents who prefer to have the aksharabhyasam ritual performed on Dasami morning at the Sri Ayyappa Temple in MRC Nagar.
And so, on a part-cloudy part-sunny Tuesday morning, young parents took turns to sit before a priest and introduce their little ones to the world of letters.
The ritual was simple and a delight to watch. Some kids were a curious lot, some held themselves back and some enjoyed the ceremony.
