Mylapore police are after a jewellery-maker who was employed by NAC Jewellers on North Mada Street, Mylapore who is accused of making off with diamond jewelry worth close to Rs.60 lakhs. The robbery was discovered on Saturday when the man who had taken old jewelry to convert into new pieces for which job he was engaged by this store for some years, was not traced.
Some reports suggest that the accused had been making off with pieces of jewels over a period of time and since he was aware of the location of the CCTV system in this busy and high profile store, he found ways to slip under its gaze.
