The inner markets in Mylapore, Luz and Mandaveli are warming up to sales to cater to the Ayudha Puja celebrations due on Oct.2. Late last night, all empty spaces along the Chitrakulam tank area had been taken up by makeshift shops selling pori /puffed rice. Packed as well as large quantities of pori were on sale here. The flower sellers were also busy.
This morning, young boys sold thoranams in the midst of the daily vegetables sales. Prices though vary wildy depending on demand. Loads of pumpkins have also been unloaded on South Mada Street.
