60 nuns from different religious congregations in the city participated in the special Holy Mass hosted in Luz last Saturday by the nuns who manage and work at St. Isabel’s Hospital, Luz
The occasion – to the beatification of the foundress of the congregation of Franciscan Hospitaller Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (CONFHIC), Rev. Sr. Maria Clara de Menino Jesus. This late nun was beatified by the Catholic Church in Lisbon, Portugal on May 21.
The nuns at St. Isabel’s belong to this congregation.
Rev. Dr. Lawrence Pius, Auxiliary Bishop of Madras-Mylapore celebrated the Mass at Shrine of Our Lady of Light Church, Luz.
A framed photograph of the foundress was unveiled during the service.
A book on her life history was released.
After the service, medals were blessed and distributed to the guests who were present.
