Most areas in Alwarpet will have to endure a power cut from 9 am to 5 pm on Thursday, April 12 because of maintenance work by the local electricity authority.
The areas of Andiammal Street, parts of R A Puram, Venkatakrishna Iyer Road, C P Ramaswamy Road, Warren Road and colonies around Bheemana Garden Street will have the power cut through the day.
Most areas here also experience power cuts daily from 4 to 6 pm.
These cuts are part of the state wide attempt to deal with the severe power shortage that has plagued it since last year.
