A large number of Carnatic musicians/artistes turned up for the annual aradhana that pays tribute to saint-composer Thyagaraja, the way it is done at his samadhi in Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur.
The event was held at the hall at Thyagarajapuram and hosted by Sri Thyagaraja Sangeeta Vidwat Samajam.
After the round of rituals first thing in the morning, the gathering of artistes and rasikas began singing the pancharatna kritis of the composer – a unique sound that filled this neighbourhood on January 31.
