Case of assault on doctor in R. A. Puram gets messy

A case related to alleged assault of a doctor at Billroth  Hospitals in R A Puram is getting a bit messy. The police officer investigating this case has been booked for trying to force a lawyer into questioning after locating him in the Madras High Court campus.

Dr Subbiah is said to have been assaulted by a group of unidentified men on the hospital campus as he was leaving the place last weekend. He lodged a plaint at the Abhiramapuram police station.

The case was taken up by a team at the city police central wing. A officer of this wing is said to have gone to the High Court to trail a lawyer who is said to have been suspected to have been behind the  assault on the doctor.

Lawyers took objection to the officer’s act since he did not have a warrant and lodged a plaint and the officer has been slapped with a case.
