Adyar Estuary project; work on at steady pace

ESTUARY CLEANUPWork on the Adyar estuary is going on at a steady pace. Two JCBs have been deployed here, on the eastern side of Bro D G S Dhinakaran Road, R A Puram to excavate the muck that has been dumped and flowed in here for ages.

At the far end of the estuary, the tide has been bringing in fresh water into the cleared area of this zone. Short spells of rain have filled in some ditches.

This is the second part of the Adyar Estuary project which first led to the making of the Adyar Poonga space – the regeneration of trees, scrubs, birds and animals seen on the other side of the road.
