Religious procession creates traffic jams on Dr. R. K. Salai

The big procession taken out by the Hare Krishna Movement from Mylapore to a Chetput venue caused a serious traffic jam when it travelled down the busy Dr Radhakrishnan Road this evening. This is an annual event hosted by the movement – it starts with a religious ceremony in front of Sri Kapali temple and makes its way down the main road to its destination.

A smartly=-designed chariot which allows its umbrella to be lowered when the chariot has to negotiate wires and trees on its route is colorfully decorated.

Since the procession takes much of the road, traffic is severely affected.
