The Chithirai festival at Karaneeswarar Temple, Mylapore which starts today (Apr 24) will go on till May 3. Highlights include Adikara Nandi on Apr 26 at 7.30 a.m. followed by panchamurthi veedi perappadu, Thiruther on Apr 30 at 9.30 a.m. and Nayanar procession on May 1 at 4.30 p.m.
Processions (veedi perappadu) have also been planned for the dieties everyday at 7.30 a.m and 7.30 p.m. Special cultural programmes will be held in the evening from May 5 – 14.
