R. K. Mutt Road is being relaid at a fast pace. Contractors are using milling machines and other equipment that enables mechanical scraping of the tar and jelly, resizing it and relaying the road. This makes the job smatter and quicker.
On Monday night, workers were seen scraping the road from the Rani Meyyammai School end to the Music College end.
Chennai Corporation has said that over 150 roads are to be relaid. It is not clear which other roads in this area will be relaid.
