Electoral rolls revision; another chance for voters to ask for corrections, additions, registration

The Election Commission has begun a summary revision of the electoral rolls and is holding camps at city/local polling stations to allow people to submit forms for changes/corrections to be made against their names.

The city Corporation will conduct special camps at all the polling stations on September 20 and October 4 for distribution and receipt of Form 6, 7,8 and 8A.

Those who want to enroll their names in the voters list should submit address proof and age proof (for those in the 18-24 age group) with the application.

Those who attain the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2016 (those who were born prior to January 1, 1998) can enroll themselves by furnishing Form 6 to the concerned electoral registration offices.

Those who want to delete their names can apply by using Form 7. Those who want to make any correction in their names and other details should submit Form 8.

Form 8-A which is meant for those who have moved residence within a assembly constituency may be filed.

People can also register their claims online on the website (www.elections.tn.gov.in ).
