A woman traffic police inspector was hurt on Sunday night when she attempted to catch hold of one of a group of motorbike riders who are said to have been racing on the roads in this part of the city.
The official was with a group of policemen and women on patrol duty at the Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Road – Adyar Bridge Road junction when they were alerted by colleagues to a group which was road racing on bikes.
Four riders were detained during the vehicle check but one of then dodged the police and sped off. The inspector who tried to get hold of him was hurt.
