But S. Banu, a civic worker who cleans the streets from early morning till noon at Mandavelipakkam, seems to have a quick solution to keep herself hydrated.
Around her waist, hangs a small black cloth bag with a water bottle with just enough water to last till she works. That way, I don’t have to go around looking for water, she says, before getting back to her job while humming her favourite song.
