Regulating posters on public walls; police officer discusses issues with reps of political parties

How can wall posters be regulated in the Mylapore zone in order to keep the heritage zone smart and clean?

This issue was at the core of a recent meeting the Deputy Commissioner of Police, V. Balakrishnan had with local area representatives of all political parties. at his office on Kutchery Road.

Many ideas and suggestions were shared and the DCP says that a firm plan is awaited.

Recently, Mylaporeans expressed their agitation at the vandalism of a section of public walls on Kutchery Road ( alongside the Canal) which had been painted artistically by a NGO called Thuvakkam.

Posters promoting AIADMK public meetings were plastered all over this ‘art’ wall.

Now, the wall is what it used to be – a base to layers of posters.
