Trekking tragedy in south TN: teacher from local school severely injured

It was a black day for several trekkers who went out on a trekking expedition at Bodi Hills in Theni district of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Many lost their lives in the wildfire at Kurangani Hills that afternoon just when the trekkers were climbing down. Among the severely injured was Anu Vidhya, a psychologist at The Grove School, Alwarpet.

Anu Vidhya, an animal lover, was part of the 24 member team organised by the city-based Chennai Trekking Club. She was rescued with 90% burns on her body and is battling for life at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.

The correspondent of Grove School Prasanth Krishna says, “She is a kind and good teacher. She is also an animal assistant therapist here. We wish her a speedy recovery”.
