Unauthorised hoardings and banners have been removed, say Corporation officials

Corporation officials are on the rounds to ensure that illegal hoardings and banners are removed in the neighbourhood.

An official in Ward 125 which covers the areas of Kamarajar Salai, Nochikuppam and San Thome High Road says, “Two unauthorised hoardings, about 15 feet tall and 10 feet wide have been removed by us recently. We have also removed several banners and boards on lamp posts”.

When asked about their monsoon preparedness, he says, “Our motors and tree cutters are ready. Residents can call us anytime in the event of a tree fall”.

Ward 122 covers the Chamiers Road and Boat Club area. An official there says, “At Chamiers Road, near the petrol bunk, a new storm water drain is being constructed by the head office. At other areas in the neighbourhood, the storm water drains have been desilted. Banners, about 2 feet in length and width, were put up at night at Turnbulls Road recently. They were removed the next day”.
