3D ANIMATED ART
InKo Centre, Boat Club Road, R. A. Puram presents ‘Animated Artistry’, an exhibition which showcases the unique synergy between drawing and technical layering, art and animation, that forms the basis for ideas of these artists. The exhibition aims to trace the process behind the making of critically acclaimed animated films by E-magic Animation Company such as Hanuman vs Mahiravana as well as short films such as Book Goblin, Fairywoods, Wizard of Arabia and Dark Spell.
Emagic was founded by Dr. Ezhil Vendan who has 15 years of experience as a senior 3D artist in the field of animation. He has worked in the UK for nearly 8 years in popular games studios. Dr. Ezhil, is a member of the VES (Visual Effects Society), a prestigious global organisation and is currently working as the art director at GamayaInc, USA.

ODISSI DANCE PRODUCTION
‘Odissi on High’, a dance production will be presented on May 14 evening at Narada Gana Sabha. The theme focuses on the evolution of Odissi – by the two pioneer gurus – Kelucharan Mahapatra and Debaprasad Das. The approaches and evolution of these two veteran gurus have been developed and enhanced by their respective star disciples, guru Bichitrananda and guru Durga Charan Ranbir, respectively. Veteran dancer Ramli Ibrahim of Malaysia is the conceiver of this production, having co-artistically directed it with Bichitrananda Swain.

THAMIZH DRAMAS
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore presents its theatre fest from May 16 to 24. Nine plays by city’s leading troupes. Opens on May 16, 6.45 p.m, with United Visuals’ ‘Thuglak Darbar.’ Plays start at 7 p.m. on the other days of the fest. Open to all.
