Workers of ACT, a company which provides internet services have installed utility poles at Nageswara Rao Park in Luz. The private ISP intends to provide free Wifi at the park soon.
The workers, who were at the site said that ACT has collaborated with Chennai Corporation to provide free internet at various parks in the city.
However, some park users say free Wifi will be of no use to them. Said Seetha, a regular here, “As most of us have unlimited internet packs on our smartphones we may not require free Wifi.”
Added Seetha,”Though it can be useful for students, it should not become a place for people to hang around and watch movies and drop food leftovers.”
