There is one constant in these times – civic workers have been at their posts as have been GCC staff and engineers. They are in the front lines.
Be it on C. V. Raman Road or Mandaveli Street or in KVB Gardens, these workers report on time as dawn breaks and start cleaning and sweeping and collecting the waste.
All that they look for is to have a cup of tea during a break. But thats not possible – because all tea shops are closed – this is what Raji Muthukrishnan of Alwarpet reported.
During the day, GCC staff are seen setting lamp posts and lighting right and clearing drains. Senior staff are seen supervising staff and overseeing shelters for homeless.
