Our Lady of Guidance Church in R. A. Puram that manages St.Mary’s Road cemetery which falls under the GCC at Mandaveli has restricted the number of people attending a burial.
Recently, the Tamil Nadu government announced that congregation of not more than 20 people will be allowed to attend funeral services during the lockdown period.
Says Rev Fr. Y. F. Bosco, parish priest of Our Lady of Guidance church on Lazarus Church Road, “Following the announcement by the state government, we are informing people that only 5 to 10 people will be allowed inside the cemetery for burial. We have also provided a facility to wash their hands and legs.”
He says that post the lockdown only a few burials took place here. “We ensured that the state’s guidelines were followed every time.”
