Three private hospitals in the Mylapore zone and its fringe have been designated by the Tamil Nadu government to treat COVID 19 patients privately.

The state issued orders on this issue after considering pleas by the people that private hospitals also be allowed to treat the illness and their own cost.

On April 3, by an order a list of private hospitals in the state that will offer the facility was released.

In that are Kauvery Hospitals in Alwarpet, CSI Kalyani Hospital on Dr R K Salai, Mylapore and Fortis Malar Hospital on the other side of the Adyar bridge.

They will have to follow the protocols advised by the Indian government and report treatment  of each patient.
