Big hearts have reached out to a temple priest in dire need this season. He will get about Rs.12,000 in cash and two bags of dry foodstuff by tonight.
Muthukumara Swamy gurukkal is 75 years old and he is one of the priests who works for Sri Vadugur Selva Vinayagar Temple in Mylapore.
His need for help was echoed by people known to him near Sri Madhava Perumal Temple.
Community activist Baskar Seshadri co-ordinated the donation collection – going as far as Kotturpuram to pick up a donation this evening.
