State governor gets tested at Alwarpet hospital, is Covid-positive and will be treated at Raj Bhavan

The governor of Tamil Nadu, Banwarilal Purohit checked into the privately-managed Kauvery Hospital in Alwarpet on Sunday morning ( Aug.2) to further test himself for Covid following widespread positive cases in staff stationed on the periphery of his core campus of Raj Bhavan, Guindy.

He spent a few hours here and then drove back to Raj Bhavan.

The hospital put out a statement saying the governor had tested positive, that he was asymptomatic and his case was a mild one and that he could get treated at home. The hospital was to monitor his condition.
