Work to set up vertical gardens at the pillars under TTK Road flyover is on now. Contract workers of Chennai Corporation have fixed a plastic structure at these pillars to grow vertical gardens here.
They say that vertical gardens will come up at 12 pillars under TTK Road bridge. Similar work will also be carried out at the flyover on Dr Radhakrishnan Salai, the workers say.
Said a senior contract worker, “Treated water from Chennai Corporation’s sewage treatment plants (STP) will be used to water the plants in the vertical garden.”
