Church in San Thome to host its Christmas carol service online

The 178-year-old CSI St. Thomas English Church (STEC) in San Thome has turned to new ways of celebrating Christmas, due to the pandemic situation.

With the Christmas carols rounds and parish community dinner cancelled this year, the STEC Choir will present an online carol service ‘Let the whole world know’ on Sunday, December 20 at 7 pm.

All are invited to attend.

The church choir, led by Anila Manoharan, will be presenting nine carols – a recent one, and others recorded from carol services in the past – from 2011 to the present.

The singing will be interspersed with brief reflections on the theme. Suresh Balasunder and Caleb Hastings have worked behind the scenes in putting together the videos.

The Carol Service will be web-streamed through Zoom and on the Church’s YouTube channel.
