The few people who had queued at the ration shop alongside the Chitrakulam ( south side) had to scamper away when some workmen began to spray the inside of this store.
Some people thought this was part of the GCC’s anti-mosquito drive but wondered why the spraying was carried out inside the ration shop, fearing this would affect the rice and dhall stocks there.
But they were told that a beehive had developed inside the store and fumigation was carried out.
