Chennai Corporation opened community kitchens on top of this week, to cater food to people badly affected by the rain.
In Zone 9 ( Teynampet zone under which most parts of Mykapore falls) food is being prepared at the GCC Community Hall located on Bharathidasan Road, near the library thrice a day – at 8am, 12pm and at 8pm.
Volunteers then take the food to different points where the food is required by people and distribute it.
