Yvonne Gomez, a retired teacher of St. Bede’s AI Hr Secondary School, San Thome passed away on January 16.
She joined St. Bede’s School in 1968 and retired in 1999.
She taught students of 6th to 8th standards in math and science. After school hours, she used to tutor the boarders here.
She even taught the boarders post retirement. She was on the OBA Selection Committee where she helped the Old Bedeans Association identify the most deserving students of the school in order to render support to them.
She was very fond of the boarders and was like a mother to them, said one Old Bedean.
