Well-known writer, poet and translator Sirpi Balasubramaniam who has been chosen for the Padma Shri award recently is to be felicitated at an event in Mylapore on Feb.13, Sunday.
The event is at 5 p.m. at the Kaviko Manram premises in CIT Colony and is open to all.
Sirpi Balasubramaniam, now in his 80s and hailing from the Pollachi region has written over 150 books – stories, poetry, essays and translations.
He is the recipient of two awards from the prestigious Sahitya Akademi – one for his work in Thamizh and one for translation.
