A sizable number of people have been attending every procession from Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple as part of its annual Panguni utsavam.
On Wednesday night, as the procession bearing the gods on the punna-maram vahavam which was beautifully and richly decorated moved to the streets junction across Rasi store, there were some 300 plus people all around.
On Thursday morning, as the procession of the surya-vattam vahanam slowly moved down South Mada Street even as school-time traffic increased, people waited on the roadside to pray and make offerings.
This far, the streets have not been dotted with any hawkers so the festival colours outside the temple are missing.y
