Earlier this week, Mylapore Times had reported on the digging up of the are around the Punnai Vananathar sannidhi at the Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple by a team of state police – they were probing the ‘missing peacock idol’ case and wanted to see if the idol may have been removed and buried there.
Sources at the temple told Mylapore Times on Thursday that though the police arranged deep excavation nothing of significance was located.
