Young US-based music artiste’s double header ‘inclusive’ Carnatic concert is to support autistic children

Rishabh Kaushik, a 13 year old US-based music artiste who also drives support for autistic children, will perform at a double header concert at Dakshinamurthi Auditorium, P. S. School campus, R K Mutt Road, Mylapore on July 2.

A note from Kaushik’s family says ‘this double header musical harmony will feature abled and differently abled artists and is dedicated to support autistic children through ‘Vidya Sagar’.

This is an effort to promote inclusion in the performing arts and to support autistic children, and this is hosted by the non-profit organisation SciArtsRUs as part of its ‘Artabilities 4 All initiative’.

The occasion will be graced by vidwans like Umayalpuram Sivaraman and Vikku Vinayakram.

The vocal performance will be followed by a keyboard performance where two senior visually impaired artistes will accompany Rishabh in addition to other artistes.

Rishabh performed his maiden Carnatic vocal and keyboard performance at age 9 in 2018 and since has been performing in numerous live and online events.  He holds a gold medal in the Advanced Contemporary Music Festival for piano and is a student of the Thousand Oaks Philharmonic’s acclaimed Appassionata

The youth has been supported by his mother Dr Ranjini Kaushik, and by his teachers, K. N. Shashikiran and SriVaralakshmi.

The event is open to all.
