School students spread the message of mental well-being

A walkathon was organised in Mylapore on October 10 to mark World Mental Health Day) to create awareness among the public on mental health issues.

This was initiated by MAP ( Mental Health for Action by People) and Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School, Mylapore.

About 150 students along with 10 teachers from Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School, Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Higher Secondary School, A.M.M Matric School, Kotturpuram and Lady Sivaswami Ayyar Girls School took part in the event.

The Walkathon started from Gandhi statue, off the Chitrakulam and the students walked around the tank of Sri Kapali Temple.  They carried placards with slogans on mental well-being.
