If you are travelling from the Adyar side into the Mylapore zone, you must be aware of the traffic jams that are now occur between the Adyar flyover and what used to be the Chennai Corporation playground off R. K. Mutt Road’s far south end.
These are caused by work on the Chennai Metro project.
Barricading of an area near Fortis Malar Hospital has been executed and part of it juts into the main road; this causes peak hour traffic to jam and crawl; it slows down even at non peak hours.
And because of the narrowed road space after the Adyar river Thiru Vi Ka bridge and beyond KVB Gardens colony zone off R K Mutt Road, traffic movement is very very slow during peak hours.
