Following the Balalayam held on Friday last week, the renovation work at Sri Madhava Perumal Temple has started on the weekend.
The saaram for the raja gopuram is being put up.
As part of the Balalayam event, the prabhandham members had presented the sacred Tiruvoimozhi verses of Nam Azhwar. Officials from TVS, the company which will take up the renovation work, were present for the sacred event.
The raja gopuram and all the vimanas will be painted afresh.
The renovation work is expected to take at least three months.
