SVDD chief priest’s 60th birthday celebrations held at Andavan Ashramam

The 60th birthday of Varadaraja Bhattar popularly known as Mani Maama, the chief priest at Sri Vendantha Desikar Devasthanam  ( SVDD) was celebrated in a grand manner at Andavan Ashramam on Tuesday morning.
The hall was packed – the temple’s service personnel, devotees, relatives and friends attended.
Mani Maama has been a popular priest at the temple having served for two decades. In between he had stint at a temple in Pune.
His former colleagues at Veera Raghava Perumal Temple in Tiruvallur where he served as a priest for a brief period, also came all the way to wish him on the occasion.
SVDD authorities presented Bahumanam to Varadaraja Bhattar and his wife.
The chief priest of the temple from the 1970s, T. Srinivasachariar, now aged 96, presented a shawl to Varadaraja Bhattar.
