Hundi collection count on today at Sri Kapali Temple is being webcast. For better transparency.

The Navarati mantapam has been abuzz this Thursday morning.
And there is the rustle and clinks of money all around.
The regular counting and record of hundi collection has been on here since 9 a.m.
The entire service personnel at the temple along with volunteers got down to offloading and counting the hundial money after the formalities were done.
Temple executive officer Hariharan was seen giving directions and instructions to the personnel.

Following the huge attendance of people at the Maha Sivarathri (and Sani Prodosham) celebrations last month and the pradosham held last Saturday, the hundi collection at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple is bound to be big.

The counting is being webcast live.
Mylapore Times had first reported in January 2023 the announcement by HR&CE minister Sekar Babu of the plans to webcast the hundial counting to bring greater transparency to this process.
