Mylapore MLA Dha Velu says that two issues regarding the Chennai Corporation playground on South Canal Bank Road popularly called Alphonsa ground have been under consideration.
Some people have asked that a skating rink be constructed in a corner of this ground. Their demand stems from interest shows by local area children.
Also, Velu says the area around the gymnasium tends to flood when it rains and this problem needs to be set right. There is a demand to create a space here for silambam coaching and practice.
