May 1 is observed as Labour Day every year throughout the world.
As a token of appreciation for the services rendered by the employees of Urbaser Sumeet, the staff who clear waste on streets and road, Amirdha Varshini, Ward 126 councillor of the Congress party distributed saris to the women employees.
This took place at her office on San Thome High Road.
